Frequently Asked Questions

What types of work do you do?

We offer a variety of home improvement services. We offer steam cleaning of carpets and upholstery, painting of interior or exterior surfaces along with most new or reconstruction services. We also offer emergency services of fire repairs and water extraction during flooding. If you have a home improvement project that you would like done, please contact us. Even if we can't help you, we will try to provide you with names of reputable companies that can do you job.

You perform emergency home improvements. Do you work with insurers to get my job done?

Yes. In fact we enjoy a great reputation with most insurers. They know that when you call us, that we will work directly with them to resolve your insurance claim. They know that when you hire us to perform your emergency services or restorations that they can count on you being satisfied the first time around and that there will not be multiple call backs to repair work already done.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes. We carry premium insurance to cover most anything that could possibly creep up. All of our employees are fully bonded too. We want you to know that you will not be faced with any additional "surprises" when we come to your home or business

Are you available anytime?

Yes. We have crews on standby at all times so that if you have an emergency situation during the middle of the night or on a weekend or even a holiday, we'll be there to help.

When should I call for emergency services?

Call anytime. We can come to your location whenever we are needed. We can immediately secure your home following a fire or other disaster and help to provide some peace of mind during these stressful times.

Do you work with my insurance company?

Yes. In fact most insurers are pleased when they know that they will will be dealing with us. Why? Because we help to handle your claim fairly. They also know that even though we work on behalf of our clients to resolve your claims, we do not over bill or inflate our estimates and that our estimates are concise and accurate. They also know that when you hire us, that they will not be deluged with follow up calls regarding poor workmanship or poor quality materials and that we are true in all of our time estimates for completion of the project. This makes the job for the insurance company easier. Like most everyone, insurers want to work with a reputable company that will help to ease their burdens too.

My insurance company wants to write a check right away for restoration after my mishap, should I take their offer?

Generally speaking, no you should not take the first offer. Contact us and we will provide a fair estimate of what it will take to complete the job properly, without added expense to you. Remember that your insurer is in business to make money. This can't happen if they over pay for an insurance claim. Many insurance adjusters will try to take advantage of your emotional state at the time of an emergency situation and as a result will often save their company thousands of dollars that you could end up being liable for if you want the job completed properly. By accepting their initial offer, you generally consent to this being a final payment for you claim, even if it's not enough to caver all of your restoration.

Do you do work other than emergency services?

Yes. In addition to helping you out when you face restorations due to unforseen circumstances beyond your control, we also offer regular painting and other home improvements.

I see that you offer carpet and upholstery cleaning. Why?

Like other companies, our business evolved. As we offered restoration services, people were so happy with what we did for them that they began to ask if we could come out and clean their carpets or upholstery long after we completed their emergency services. We started out slowly in these areas and eventually, the referrals were so great that we decided to expand our service offerings. Today, in addition to emergency restoration services on your home or other building Farr's offers painting, steam cleaning and even power washing.

Do you use harsh chemicals in your cleaning solutions?

No. We have to live in our environment too. So we use only the chemicals that are absolutely necessary to clean whatever it is that we are cleaning. We prefer to use natural cleansers whenever we can. We don't want to affect your plants or pollute the ground or air with chemicals that may cause harm to you, your children or your pets.

The fabrics in my furniture or carpets require special care as noted by the manufacturer, can you still clean these items for me?

Yes. Please let us know in advance the types of fabrics that are being cleaned. All of our cleaning operators are trained to clean most any item without harm. If for some reason, we are unfamiliar with your materials or if we feel unsure about cleaning those items, we would prefer to tell that and then try to refer you to a specialist that can handle these types of cleanings. We will not attempt to do a job that may not be within the scope of our knowledge.

When are you available to do my regular home improvements?

Like most companies, we perform regular home improvements during regular hours Monday through Friday. However if you need to have something done during the evening or weekend, we can often make arrangements to work for you then.
